The Waterproofers Association (TWA India)
Founded by M.K. Dhawan — MD of Dhawan Associates and a concrete technologist practising since 1987 — TWA exists to raise the standard of waterproofing workmanship across India through training, standardization and certification.
An Industry Without a Standard Fails One Roof at a Time.
Waterproofing in India has world-class materials and wildly inconsistent workmanship. The same drum of membrane gives a 15-year job in trained hands and a 2-monsoon job in untrained ones — and until TWA, no body existed to close that gap.
TWA’s vision, in its own words, is “an association which can work across India as a tool to standardize, test, supervise, recommend, support and train the whole waterproofing fraternity” — and everybody attached to it — in pursuit of excellence. Its mission rests on six pillars: excellence, innovation, integrity, a client-centric approach, sustainability, and education & training.
What Members Get.
Training
Hands-on training in application practice — surface preparation, detailing, system selection — from practitioners, not brochures.
Standards
Working methods that standardize, test and supervise waterproofing work, so quality stops depending on which crew turned up.
Recognition
Association membership that tells clients an applicator has committed to a professional standard — and can be recommended on that basis.
Network
A fraternity of applicators, contractors and engineers across India who support each other with referrals, know-how and specification help.
Built for the Whole Waterproofing Fraternity.
- Applicators — crews and small firms who want training and a credential that wins better work.
- Contractors — waterproofing and civil contractors who want standardized methods across their teams.
- Engineers & consultants — specifiers who want a supervised, testable standard to hold site work against.
Membership in Two Steps
Visit twaindia.com and download the membership form (available on the TWA site as a PDF), then submit it as directed. If you would rather talk first, mention TWA on our WhatsApp line and we will point you to the right person.
Hire Trained Hands, Not Just a Low Quote.
Most waterproofing failures are workmanship failures. When you hire a TWA-trained applicator, you are hiring someone who has been taught surface preparation, detailing and system selection to a supervised standard — the difference between a warranty on paper and a roof that stays dry. It is also why our own application crews work to the same discipline: method statements, genuine batch-coded material and inspection before handover.

Is TWA the same company as Dhawan Associates?
