A One-Way Valve for Grout.
An NRV (non-return valve) grouting nipple is a one-way valve device used in injection grouting: it lets grout flow into the structure under pump pressure while preventing backflow the moment pressure drops. Without it, resin injected at high pressure simply spits back out of the hole — wasting material and leaving the crack unfilled.

Five Steps to a Sealed Crack.
- Drill injection holes at the designated points along or across the crack.
- Install the Dseal NRV nipples so each seats tight and holds pressure.
- Inject the grout using a pump — the NRV holds every bar of pressure in the structure.
- Allow the grout to cure per the resin manufacturer’s schedule.
- Remove or cut off the nipples and make good the surface.
Used everywhere injection goes: basement waterproofing, tunnels and bridges, concrete crack injection, dams and reservoirs, and industrial and commercial structures.
The valve is what makes the difference. With plain open ports, resin follows the path of least resistance — straight back out of the hole. With an NRV seated in each port, pressure builds inside the crack network, pushing grout into fine capillaries the eye never sees. The result is precise injection, less resin wasted and measurably better waterproofing per hole drilled.

What exactly is an NRV grouting nipple?

Which types are available and which should I use?
