STP Limited began in 1935 as Shalimar Tar Products, founded under the Turner Morrison group — a pioneer in bitumen, coal-tar and construction chemicals long before “construction chemicals” was an industry in India. Its tagline says it plainly: “Enhancing Structures’ Life.” Legacy brands TarFelt and ShaliMastic are household names on Indian roofs and roads.
Since 1 November 2019, STP has been a Berger Paints group company (95.53% stake), headquartered at Nehru Place, New Delhi, with six manufacturing plants — Goa, Panoli (Gujarat), Ambattur (Chennai), Hooghly (West Bengal), Kosi Kotwan near Mathura (APP membranes) and Jamshedpur (coal-tar products).
For NCR buyers that last plant matters: APP membrane rolls reach us fresh from Kosi Kotwan, barely 150 km away. We stock the fast-moving TarFelt, ShaliTex Primer and Shali retail lines and arrange plant-direct supply for road and bridge quantities.

ShaliMastic HD is STP’s flagship coal-tar based anti-corrosive mastic coating — used to protect tank exteriors, buried metal and underground structures from corrosion. For buried pipelines and STPs, the ShaliPoxy CTE coal-tar epoxy series is the higher-build option.
