Fibreglass Mesh & Mesh Tapes

Resin-coated fibreglass mesh and self-adhesive mesh tapes that reinforce waterproof coatings, bridge cracks and hold plaster together — the cheap insurance inside every membrane that lasts.

What It Is

Rebar for Your Coating.

Fibre mesh is woven from fibreglass strands and coated with a protective resin so it survives inside alkaline cementitious and polymer systems. Sandwiched between coats of a liquid waterproofing membrane or plaster, it gives the layer tensile strength it simply doesn’t have on its own — so movement produces a stretched membrane, not a cracked one.

Fibre mesh tapes are narrow strips of the same fibreglass mesh with an adhesive backing — made for corners, wall-floor junctions, pipe penetrations and seams, where coatings crack first and tapes install fastest.

  • High tensile strength — resists cracking, extends coating life
  • Flexible — conforms to corners, curves and complex details
  • Durable — resistant to moisture, chemicals and UV exposure
  • Cost-effective versus traditional reinforcement
  • Easy to install with most waterproofing materials

Applications

Everywhere a Coating Needs a Backbone.

Roofs & Terraces

Membrane reinforcement and seam sealing on acrylic and elastomeric roof coatings — full-surface mesh or tape at joints.

Wet Areas & Pools

Bathrooms, showers and swimming pools — mesh at wall-floor junctions and drain penetrations under the waterproofing coat.

Walls & Plaster

Exterior and interior wall strengthening and plaster crack control, including over chases and dissimilar-material junctions.

Balconies & Terraces

Reinforcement in trafficked coating systems where thermal movement is constant.

Foundations

Part of coating build-ups that keep water out of below-grade walls.

Corners & Details

Self-adhesive mesh tapes for corners and seams — moisture-resistant and fast to apply.

Straight Talk

What Mesh Will and Won’t Do.

Mesh reinforces a sound system; it doesn’t rescue a bad one. Three honest caveats:

  • It needs proper installation — fully embedded, not floating on the surface
  • Surface preparation still decides adhesion — mesh won’t bond a coating to dust
  • Check compatibility with your coating system before specifying

Get the system right, though, and the mesh outlasts everything around it: properly embedded fibreglass reinforcement resists moisture, chemicals and UV for decades, and the coating above it can be recoated or painted over on schedule without disturbing it.

We stock multiple mesh weights and roll formats, plus adhesive tapes in common widths, ready for same-day dispatch across Delhi NCR. Tell us the coating system and area on WhatsApp and we’ll match the mesh — and if you’d rather have it applied, our waterproofing crews use these materials daily under the full range of waterproofing products we supply.

Buying Notes

Formats, Pricing and What’s New.

Roll Options

Pricing varies by mesh type and quality, roll size and brand. We stock multiple weights and widths — quote against your coating system and area, not a one-size roll.

Self-Adhering Mesh

Newer self-adhering fibre mesh eliminates separate adhesives — faster detailing on corners and seams. Available alongside conventional lay-in mesh.

Greener Options

Manufacturing increasingly uses recycled glass and lower-energy production, and low-VOC eco-friendly membrane systems pair well with mesh for green building work.

Quick Answers

Fibre Mesh FAQs.

Does fibre mesh really stop coatings from cracking?

It gives the coating tensile strength, so hairline movement stretches the reinforced membrane instead of tearing it. On terraces and wet areas the difference shows up within the first few seasons of thermal cycling.

Where should I use mesh tape instead of full mesh?

Tapes are for lines and details: corners, wall-floor junctions, seams and pipe penetrations. Full-width mesh is for reinforcing whole surfaces. Most good waterproofing jobs use both — tape at details, mesh over the field.

Is fibreglass mesh compatible with cementitious coatings?

Yes — the strands are coated with a protective resin precisely so they survive alkaline cementitious environments. It also works within acrylic and other liquid-applied membrane systems; confirm compatibility with your specific coating and we’ll advise.

How long does fibre mesh last inside a system?

Properly embedded mesh is resistant to moisture, chemicals and UV and lasts decades — effectively the life of the coating system around it. Failures almost always trace to installation, not the mesh.
